Every day, we’re hearing new rumors and leaks of what Apple will include in their iPhone and what they will discard. A lot of these suggestions seem fake so we’re only listing the rumors that are the most authentic and already confirmed by industry-leading professionals.
More Storage
The first and most authentic leak is that Apple will finally touch the 1TB mark on their new iPhone series. However, the storage option will be only available for the Pro and Pro Max models. Still, it’s double the capacity we have for the current iPhones.
Internal storage is always recommended than buying a separate iCould subscription. But this is Apple we’re talking about, so expect a huge price bump here. None of the leakers have suggested the actual price of these 1TB iPhone’s but we’re expecting it to be around $1800. That’s a lot to spend on a smartphone device, Welcome to the future!
New Processor and Improved 5G Coverage
Apple has been using new processors in their iPhones for over a decade now and the iPhone 13 will ship with a new chip as well. With all the success of the recent M1 chip, Apple is really dominating the processor market in terms of both efficiency and performance.
The iPhone 13 will feature a custom-designed system-on-a-chip (SoC) chipset by the name A14 Bionic. As always, the chip comes with a slighter performance boost and efficiency across different functionalities.
One thing worth mentioning here is that a lot of leakers suggested that Apple will release the 4nm chipset in their iPhones, but that won’t be possible until 2023 because of the current global pandemic situation. The current chipset will be based on the 5nm mark.
The iPhone 13 will also get some new hardware in the connectivity department. Starting from cellular coverage, we’ll get a new 5G modem. Apple will likely use Qualcomm’s X60 5G modem in their upcoming iPhone. The custom Apple-built model won’t be arriving anywhere soon. This will be likely to release with the 4nm chip.
Furthermore, the iPhone 13 will also get Wi-Fi 6E coverage, which is a new and improved version of the Wi-Fi 6 standard.
Bigger Battery
iPhone 13 will also get some battery upgrades as well. Though, both the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro lasted a day without a problem, it is nice to see new battery upgrades. Also, it’s without a doubt that iPhone’s battery lasts the longest on Standby, even if they have the lowest numbers. iPhone 12 Pro Max rocking a 3687mAh battery lasts longer than the Android phones having a 5000mAh battery.
All of this is because of the custom-built chipset and IOS compatibility. The battery leak capacity leak chart for the iPhone lineup will look like this.
- A2660 (iPhone 13 Mini) 2460mAh; (iPhone 12 Mini 2227mAh)
- A2656 (iPhone 13 & iPhone 13 Pro) 3095mAh; (iPhone 12 $ iPhone 12 Pro 2805mAh)
- A2653 (iPhone 13 Pro Max) 4325mAh (iPhone 12 Pro Max 3687mAh)
That’s not a huge number, but something is always better than nothing. That being said, the new battery in the 13 Pro Max model will increase the thickness slightly to fulfill the higher capacity of the 5G coverage.
Design and Screen
In terms of design, there are a lot of renders and leaks. From iPhone flying in your room to an iPhone having a curved display, there are just so many speculations that it is hard to find which one will be the most authentic.
What most of the leakers concluded, is that the iPhone 13 will feature the same design as the previous-gen iPhones. If in case Apple makes the design change, it will be a slightly small bezel and notch.
And finally, there are some rumors that Apple will release a 120Hz screen refresh rate in their Pro models next year. It means that the animation will be a lot smoother, the games will be crisper, the graphics will look sharper, and motion blur is reduced. Apart from this, the screen resolution, panel, and brightness will remain the same.
Wired and Wireless Charging
At the start of 2021, there are thousands of rumors stating that Apple will likely ditch the Charging port and will shift completely to Wireless charging since they have launched MagSafe.
Sorry to be the bearer of the bad news, but that won’t be possible anywhere soon. At least for the iPhone 13 launch. Apple MagSafe chargers are not that much great in terms of charging. Also, the wired connection is always faster and much reliable than Wireless charging.
However, a new patent revealed that Apple will release a new version of their Classical MagSafe charger for the iPhone. This will be a universal charger that will also work on the MacBook Pro series as well. If that’s true, the. the lightning port will be definitely replaced.
New Colors for the iPhone 13
What color to pick for your new iPhone is always a discussion of many. Apple might be releasing some new attractive color designs for the iPhone 13 series. The all-time favorite Space Gray is still in the lead with a new black matte shade. Also, there’s an Orange and bronze color expected to see in the Pro models too.
Another leaker stated that there might be a pink iPhone coming this year as well, but it will be only available on the standard variant.
Conclusion:
And That’s a wrap on all the authentic rumors we’ve collected. iPhone 13 is expected to launch at the September Apple event with shipments starting from the same month as well. Now that we know what might be coming to the iPhone 13, here are some changes we would like to see.
